They are classified based on their ability to hit the ball further than a backhand or forehand. Tennis players often struggle to hit forehands because of inexperience with how to properly engage their muscles and what order to hit strong forehands. Tennis players also have trouble with their backhands because of lack of understanding about how to properly position themselves to hit a good backhand down the court. These two areas are crucial to the game and need to be addressed.

A successful tennis swing depends on the grip you use. Many beginners make the error of holding their racket in a way that is too loose or tight and end up missing the ball, making poor contact or having their racket slip when they hit the ball. The best way to strike the ball correctly is to hold the racket correctly in the right position.

Another important thing to remember is that your forehand’s swing path should start out straight and then curve upwards towards the top of your body as you reach the top of your follow through. This is called cut shots or high arc. A low arc or hook will begin with a more natural wrist hinge and wrist extension. These aspects will affect the type of shots that you need to master. If you are working on the bank shot technique the forehand swing is likely to curve towards the top as you get closer to the ball.

Always keep your shoulders aligned with the ball. This helps to keep your shoulders in constant contact with the ball as your arms are free to move. Keep in mind that the shoulders must not leave the socket or your racquet while you are swinging. It can make it very difficult to capture the ball when this occurs.

When you approach the ball, make sure that your arm is pointing from your side , not your backside. Rotating your arms to your side can actually decrease your power and ability generate power. You must have a strong grip to control your arm’s rotation. A weak grip could be extremely dangerous as it could cause you to lose the ball or can cause you to overextend your arm. This could result in injury.

The angle of your stance is another important aspect to ensure a good grip. Most tennis beginners are right handed and carry their right arm across their body. The left arm of newbies is often slung across their body. Most coaches suggest holding the club with an even grip, or a style similar to a baseball grip. A neutral grip will prevent you from swinging with an arm that isn’t dominant.

Forehand tennis players with open stances tend to have problems with their forearms. If players have an open-stance forehand, they tend to over-turn their wrists and do not have a proper grip. A great solution to this issue is to hold the racket using a neutral grip. Closed grips are best for players with an open forehand. This can be achieved by placing the racket on your head while your knees are bent and your elbows are locked.

Tennis players that have a dominant hand should move the racket over their head and over their shoulder. The racket should be facing your crotch if an right-handed player and the racket should be pointing towards your waist if left handed. This will help prevent either the over-the-head swing or the under-shoulder swing from occurring. When you swing keep your wrists straight, and keep them down your hips so that you don’t allow either side of your body any space to swing.
