A successful tennis swing is dependent on the grip you use. Many beginners make the error of gripping the racket too tightly or too loosely and end up missing the ball, making improper contact, or having the racket fall off when they swing at the ball. Another important thing to remember is that your forehand’s path should be straight. As you get closer to the top end of your follow-through, your forehand swing path should be curved towards your top. This is referred to as cut shot or high arc. For instance, if you are practicing a technique referred to as the bank shot, your forehand swing path will naturally turn toward the top as you move closer to the ball.

Keep your shoulders in line with the ball as you swing. This will ensure that your shoulders remain in constant contact with your ball, allowing your arms to swing with ease. When you swing, your shoulders must not be able to leave the socket of your racquet. This can make it extremely difficult to capture the ball in the event that this happens.

As you approach the ball, ensure to move your arm to your side, not your backside. Rotating your arms to the side could decrease your power and ability to generate power. To allow your arm to rotate correctly you need to have a strong grip on the club. A weak grip could be very dangerous because it could cause you to miss the ball or it could cause you to extend your arm. This could cause injuries.

Another important aspect in the proper grip is the angle of your stance. The majority of tennis players are right-handed and have their right arm slung across their body. By holding the club in a neutral posture will help prevent you from having an arm that is not dominant during your swing.

Open stance forehand tennis players are more likely to have problems with their forearms. If players have an open stance forehand, they tend to over-turn their wrists and not have a proper grip. This issue can be resolved by holding the racket in neutral grip. Closed grips are best for tennis players who have an open forehand. You can achieve this by placing the racket on your skull, with your knees bent and your elbows locked.

Tennis players that have a dominant hand should move the racket above their head and then over their shoulder. If you’re a right-handed player the racket should be facing your crotch. If you’re a left-handed player, the racket should be pointing towards your waist. This will prevent the head-over-head swing or the under-the-shoulder swing from occurring. When you swing, keep your wrists straight and down your hips, making sure you don’t allow either side of your body any room to swing.
