A successful tennis swing is dependent on your grip. Many beginners make the error of gripping the racket to tightly or too loosely and end up hitting the ball too far or making an incorrect contact or having the racket fall off when they are swinging at the ball. The best method to hit the ball correctly is to hold the racket in the correct position.

Another thing to keep in mind is that your forehand swing path should be straight. As you get closer to the top of your follow-through, your forehand swing path should be curved towards your top. This is known as cut or high arc shot. A hook with a low arc starts with the more natural wrist hinge and wrist extension. These aspects will determine what kind of shots you should be practicing. If you’re practicing the bank shot technique your forehand’s swing path will naturally curve toward the top as you get closer to the ball.

Always keep your shoulders aligned with the ball. This will ensure that your shoulders are always in contact with your ball and allow your arms to move freely. While you swing, your shoulders must not be able to leave the socket of your racquet. This can make it extremely difficult to catch the ball if this happens.

When approaching the ball, ensure that your arm is directed from your side , not towards your backside. Rotating your arm on your side can weaken your ability to generate power and produce a strong backswing. You need to have a strong grip to control your arm’s movement. A weak grip can cause injury. It can cause you miss the ball or cause you overextend your arms. This could cause injuries.

The angle of your stance is also an important aspect to ensure the grip you have. Tennis beginners tend to be right-handed and have their right hand slung across the body. The left arm of beginners is often slung across their body. Most coaches advise that you hold the club in the neutral grip or similar to a baseball posture. Holding the club in a neutral posture will aid in preventing a non-dominant arm when you swing.

Forehand tennis players who have an open stance are more likely to have problems with their forearms. Open stance forehand players tend to have problems with their grip. This issue can be resolved by using neutral grip. Tennis players with open stance forehands should try to hold the racket with a closed grip. This can be accomplished by placing the racket on your head, while your knees are bent and your elbows are locked.

Tennis players who are non-dominant handed should swing the racket above their head and over their shoulders. The racket should be facing your crotch if you are left handed and the racket should be pointing towards your waist if you’re left handed. This will prevent the over the head swing and the under-the shoulder swing from occurring.
