Tennis is one of the most popular sports in the world. Everyone can play tennis, from beginners to pros. There are two major categories of tennis players. They can be classified based on their ability to hit the ball farther than a backhand or forehand. Most times, tennis players struggle with their forehands as they do not know how to use the right muscles for their forehands or in the right order to hit powerful forehands. Also, tennis players struggle with backhands due to the fact that they do not know enough about how to properly position themselves for a great backhand down the court. These two areas are crucial to the sport and must be addressed.

A successful tennis swing is contingent on your grip. Many beginners make the mistake of holding the racket too tight or loosely and end up missing the ball and making poor contact or letting their racket slide when they hit the ball. Holding the racket the right way will provide you with the best chance to hit the ball accurately every time.

The other important factor to keep in mind is that your forehand swing should start out straight and then curve upwards towards the top of your body when you get to the top of your follow through. This is called cut shot or high arc. A low arc or hook would start out with an easier wrist hinge and wrist extension. These factors will determine the kind of shots you need to be practicing. For instance, if you are practicing a technique referred to as the bank shot, your forehand swing path will naturally turn toward the top as you move closer to the ball.

Always keep your shoulders squared with the ball. This will ensure that your shoulders are in constant contact with your ball which allows your arms to move freely. Remember that your shoulders must never move away from the socket or the racquet when you swing. This can make it extremely difficult to capture the ball when this occurs.

When you approach the ball, ensure that your arm is pointing from your side and not your backside. The arm that is rotated to the side will weaken your ability to generate power and create a great backswing. You need to have a strong grip to control the rotation of your arm. A weak grip could cause injury. It could cause you to lose the ball or cause you overextend your arms. This could cause injuries.

The angle of your stance is also an important factor in ensuring a good grip. Tennis beginners are typically right-handed and have their left hand slung across the body. For beginners their left arm is typically carried across their body. Most coaches recommend that you hold the club with a neutral grip or similar to a baseball position. Holding the club in a neutral position can ensure that you don’t have an arm that is not dominant when you swing.

Tennis players with open stance forehands tend to have issues with their forearms. Open stance forehand players tend to have issues with their grip. This problem can be solved by holding the racket with an upright grip. Closed grips are the best choice for tennis players who have an open forehand. This can be done by placing the racket on your head, while your knees are bent and your elbows are locked.

Tennis players with a hand that is not dominant should swing the racket above their head and over their shoulders. If you’re a right handed player, the racket should face your crotch. If you’re a lefthanded player, the racket should be pointing towards your waist. This will prevent the over-the head swing as well as the under-the-shoulder swing from occurring. Keep your wrists straight as you swing. Also, ensure you don’t allow any side of your body too much space.
