A successful tennis swing is contingent on your grip. Many beginners make the mistake of gripping the racket too tight or loose and end up hitting the ball too far, making improper contact, or having the racket fall off while they swing at the ball. The right way to hold the racket in the right way will give you the best opportunity to strike the ball correctly every time.

Another important thing to keep in mind is that your forehand swing path should begin straight and then curve upwards towards the top of your body as you approach the top of your follow through. This is known as a high arc or cut shot. A hook with a low arc will have an inherent wrist hinge as well as wrist extension. Another key factor in the proper grip is the angle you stand at. Most tennis players are right handed and have their right arm slung across their body. The left arm of beginners is usually slung over their body. Most coaches suggest holding the club with a neutral grip or in a similar way to a baseball grip. The club should be held in a neutral position can ensure that you don’t have a non-dominant arm when you swing.

Forehand tennis players who have an open stance are more likely to have problems with their forearms. When players with an open stance forehand, they tend to twist their wrists and do not have a proper grip. This issue can be resolved by using a neutral grip. Tennis players with an open stance forehand must try to use a closed grip. This can be done by placing the racket over your head, while your knees are bent and your elbows are locked.

Tennis players who have a non-dominant handed should swing the racket over their head and above their shoulders. If you’re a right-handed player, the racket should face your crotch. If you’re a left-handed player, it should be facing towards your waist. This will stop the head-over-head swing or the under-the-shoulder swing from happening.
