In the same way, tennis players struggle with backhands because they aren’t aware about the proper way to properly position themselves for a great backhand down the court. These two areas are crucial to the game and need to be addressed.
The grip is the most crucial aspect of the successful tennis swing. Many new players make the mistake of holding the racket too tightly or loosely, and end up either not hitting the ball, making improper contact, or even having the racket fall off when they swing at the ball. Holding the racket the right way will give you the best opportunity to hit the ball accurately every time.
The other thing you need to remember is that your forehand swing path should begin straight and then curve toward the top of your body as you reach the top of your follow-through. This is referred to as cut shot or high arc. A hook with a low arc will have a natural wrist hinge and wrist extension. These factors can affect the kind of shots you must be learning. For instance, if you are practicing a technique referred to as the bank shot your forehand swing will naturally shift towards the top as you move closer to the ball.
