Likewise, tennis players also struggle with backhands because they don’t know enough about how to properly position themselves for a perfect backhand on the court. These two areas are crucial to the game and need to be addressed.

The grip is the most critical aspect of a successful tennis swing. Many beginners make the mistake of holding their racket in a way that is too loose or tight and end up missing the ball making poor contact, or having their racket slip when they hit the ball. The best way to hit the ball correctly is to hold the racket in the proper position.

Another important thing to be aware of is that your forehand’s swing path should be straight from the beginning and then curve upwards towards the top of your body as you approach the top of your follow-through. This is called a high arc or cut shot. A hook with a low arc would start out with a more natural wrist hinge and wrist extension.
