A successful tennis swing is dependent on your grip. Many beginners make the error of gripping the racket to tight or loose and end up missing the ball or making a poor contact or even having the racket fall off when they are swinging at the ball. The best way to strike the ball correctly is to hold the racket correctly in the right position.

Another important thing to keep in mind is that your forehand’s swing path should be straight from the beginning and then curve towards the top of your body as you reach the top of your follow-through. This is referred to as cut shot or high arc. A low arc or hook would start out with the more natural wrist hinge and wrist extension. These factors will influence the type of shots that you should be learning. If you are working on the bank shot technique the forehand swing path will naturally curve toward the top as it gets closer to the ball.

Remember to always swing with your shoulders aligned with the ball. This will ensure that your shoulders are in constant contact with your ball, allowing your arms to move freely. While you swing, your shoulders must not leave the racquet’s socket. If this happens, it will be extremely difficult to take the ball back.

When approaching the ball, make sure that your arm is pointing from your side , not your backside. Rotating your arms towards your side can decrease your power and ability generate power. You need a solid grip to control your arm’s rotation. A weak grip can result in injury. It could cause you to miss the ball or cause you overextend your arms. This can lead to injury.

Another important aspect in the correct grip is the angle you stand at. The majority of tennis players are right-handed and have their left hand draped across their body. For those who are just beginning, their left arm is usually carried over their body. Most coaches suggest using an even grip, or a style similar to a baseball posture. A neutral grip will stop you from swinging with an arm that is not dominant.

Tennis players that have an open stance forehand tend to have issues with their forearms. Open stance forehand players tend to have problems with their grip. This issue can be resolved by holding the racket with a neutral grip. Tennis players who have open stance forehand must try to hold the racket with a closed grip. This can be achieved by placing the racket on your skull, with your knees bent, and your elbows locked.

Tennis players who have a dominant hand should move the racket over their heads and over their shoulders. The racket should point towards your crotch if left handed and the racket should be pointing towards your waist if you’re a left handed player. This will stop the over-the head swing and the under-the-shoulder swing from happening. Keep your wrists straight as you swing. Also, make sure you don’t give any part of your body too much room.
