Tennis is one of the most loved sports in the world. Tennis is a game that everyone can play, from beginners to professionals. Tennis players can be divided into two broad categories based on their skill level to hit the ball more and higher than a backhand or forehand. Most often, tennis players struggle with their forehands as they aren’t aware of how to properly engage the correct muscles for their forehands or in what order to hit strong forehands. Tennis players also have trouble with their backhands due insufficient knowledge about how to position themselves to hit a solid backhand down the court. Therefore, these two important areas of the game must to be addressed by those who want to be successful in the game.

The grip is the most critical element of an effective tennis swing. Many beginners make the error of holding the racket too tight or loose, and end up either hitting the ball too far or making a poor contact or even having the racket fall off when they swing at the ball. Holding the racket the right way will give you the best chance to hit the ball accurately every time.

The other important factor to remember is that your forehand swing path should begin straight and then curve upwards towards the top of your body as you approach the top of your follow through. This is known as cut or high arc shot. A low arc or hook would start out with an easier wrist hinge and wrist extension. These factors will determine the kind of shots you should be practicing. For instance, if you are practicing a technique referred to as the bank shot, your forehand swing path will naturally move towards the top as you get closer to the ball.

Keep your shoulders in line with the ball whenever you swing. This helps to keep your shoulders in constant contact with the ball as your arms move freely. While you swing, your shoulders should not be able to leave the socket of your racquet. If this happens, it could be very difficult to catch the ball.

As you approach the ball, ensure to rotate your arm from your side, not your backside. Rotating your arm on your side actually weakens the ability of your arm to generate power and create a great backswing. To allow your arm to rotate properly it is essential to be able to grip the club. A weak grip can be extremely dangerous as it could cause you to miss the ball or it could cause you to overextend your arm. This could lead to injuries.

Another key factor in the correct grip is the angle you stand at. The majority of tennis players are right handed and have their right arm stretched across their bodies. For those who are just beginning the left arm is typically carried across their body. Most coaches recommend holding the club with a neutral grip or in a similar way to a baseball position. The club should be held in a neutral position can ensure that you don’t have a non-dominant arm when you swing.

Forehand tennis players who have an open stance are more likely to have issues with their forearms. Open stance forehand players tend to have problems with their grip. A great solution to this problem is to hold the racket with an even grip. Closed grips are best for tennis players with an open forehand. This can be done by placing the racket on your head while your knees are bent and your elbows are locked.

Tennis players with a non-dominant hand should swing the racket over their head and then over their shoulder. The racket should face your crotch in case you are left handed and should be facing your waist if you are a left handed player. This will prevent the over-the head swing as well as the under-the-shoulder swing from occurring. When you swing keep your wrists straight and lower your hips, making sure you do not give either side of your body any room to swing.
