Tennis players can be grouped into two broad categories based on their skill level to hit the ball more and higher than a forehand or a backhand. Most often, tennis players struggle with hitting forehands because they don’t know how to engage the correct muscles for their forehands and in what order to hit strong forehands. In the same way, tennis players struggle with backhands because they don’t know enough about the proper way to properly position themselves for a perfect backhand on the court. This is why these two essential aspects of the game have to be addressed by those who wish to excel at the sport.

A successful tennis swing is dependent on your grip. Many beginners make the error of gripping the racket to tightly or loosely and end up not hitting the ball, making improper contact, or even having the racket fall off while they swing at the ball. By holding the racket in the correct way will give you the best chance to hit the ball accurately every time.

Another thing to keep in mind is that your forehand’s swing path should be straight. When you reach the top end of your follow-through, your forehand swing path should curve towards your top. This is referred to as cut shot or high arc. A hook with a low arc would have an natural wrist hinge and wrist extension. These aspects will affect the type of shots that you must be learning. If you are working on the bank shot technique the forehand swing is likely to curve towards the top as it gets closer to the ball.

Always keep your shoulders in line with the ball whenever you swing. This will ensure that your shoulders are in constant contact with your ball and allow your arms to swing with ease. Keep in mind that the shoulders must never move away from the socket or the racquet when you swing. If this happens, it will be extremely difficult to catch the ball.

As you approach the ball, make sure to rotate your arm from your side, not from your backside. Rotating your arms towards your side can decrease your power and ability generate power. To allow your arm to move properly it is essential to have a strong grip on the club. A weak grip could lead to injuries. It can cause you lose the ball or cause you to overextend your arms. This could result in injuries.

The angle of your stance is an important factor in ensuring a good grip. Most tennis players are right handed and carry their right arm across their body. For those who are just beginning the left arm is typically carried across their body. The majority of coaches suggest that you hold the club with an open grip or similar to a baseball posture. A neutral grip will prevent you from hitting with an arm that isn’t dominant.

Tennis players who have open stance forehand are more likely to have issues with their forearms. Open stance forehand players tend to have problems with their grip. This issue can be resolved by holding the racket in neutral grip. Tennis players who have open stance forehands should try to have a closed grip. You can achieve this by placing the racket behind your skull, keeping your knees bent and your elbows locked.

Tennis players who have a non-dominant hand should hold the racket in front of their head and above their shoulders. If you’re a right handed player, the racket should face your crotch. If you’re a lefthanded player, the racket should be pointing towards your waist. This will prevent the over the head swing and the under-the-shoulder swing from occurring. When you swing, keep your wrists straight and lower your hips, making sure you don’t allow either side of your body any space to swing.
