Tennis is a very well-known sport. Everyone can play tennis, from beginners to professionals. Tennis players can be classified into two broad categories based on their ability level to hit the ball more and higher than a forehand or a backhand. Most often, tennis players struggle with hitting forehands because they do not know how to properly engage the proper muscles for their forehands or in the right order to hit powerful forehands. Also, tennis players struggle with their backhands as they do not know enough about the proper way to set themselves up to hit a nice backhand down the court. These two areas are vital to the game and need to be addressed.
A successful tennis swing is dependent on your grip. Many new players make the mistake of holding their racket too loose or tight and then miss the ball and making poor contact or letting their racket slide when they hit the ball. The best way to hit the ball correctly is to hold the racket in the correct position.
Another important thing to keep in mind is that your forehand swing should start out straight and then curve towards the top of your body when you get to the top of your follow-through. This is called cut or high arc shot. A low arc or hook would start out with the more natural wrist hinge and wrist extension. These aspects will affect the type of shots that you should be learning. If you’re practicing the bank shot technique the forehand swing course will naturally curve towards the top as it gets closer to the ball.
Always keep your shoulders aligned with the ball. This will ensure that your shoulders remain in constant contact with your ball, allowing your arms to swing freely. When you swing, your shoulders should not move away from the socket of your racquet. It can make it very difficult to capture the ball when this occurs.
As you approach the ball, be sure to rotate your arm from your side, not from your backside. Moving your arm to the side could decrease your power and ability to generate power. In order to get your arm to rotate correctly you need to be able to grip the club. A weak grip could cause injuries. It can cause you not to hit the ball or cause you overextend your arms. This could result in injury.
The angle of your stance is also an important factor in ensuring a good grip. The majority of tennis players are right-handed and carry their right arm across their bodies. For beginners, their left arm is usually carried across their body. Most coaches recommend using an even grip, or a style similar to a baseball grip. By holding the club in a neutral position can aid in preventing an arm that is not dominant when you swing.
Forehand tennis players with open stances tend to have issues with their forearms. Open stance forehand players tend to have problems with their grip. A great solution to this problem is to hold the racket using a neutral grip. Closed grips are ideal for tennis players with an open forehand. This can be achieved by placing the racket on your skull, keeping your knees bent, and your elbows locked.
Tennis players who have a non-dominant hand should move the racket over their head and above their shoulders. The racket should point towards your crotch if you are an right-handed player, and it should face your waist if you’re left handed. This will prevent the swing that is over the head or the under-shoulder swing from occurring. When you swing, keep your wrists straight and down your hips so that you don’t allow either side of your body any room to swing.
