Tennis is a hugely popular sport. Everyone can play tennis from beginners to pros. Tennis players can be grouped into two broad categories based on their ability to hit the ball more and higher than a backhand or forehand. Most times, tennis players struggle with hitting forehands because they do not know how to properly use the right muscles for their forehands and in what order to hit strong forehands. Also, tennis players struggle with backhands because they don’t know enough about the proper way to position themselves to hit a nice backhand down the court. These two areas are essential to the sport and must be addressed.

The grip is the most important aspect of the successful tennis swing. Many new players make the mistake of holding the racket too loose or tight and end up missing the ball and making poor contact or letting their racket slide when they swing at the ball. The best way to strike the ball correctly is to keep the racket in the proper position.

Another important thing to keep in mind is that your forehand’s swing path should begin straight and then curve towards the top of your body when you get to the top of your follow through. This is referred to as a high arc or cut shot. A low arc or hook will begin with the more natural wrist hinge and wrist extension. These factors will determine what type of shots you should be practicing. For example, if you are practicing a technique that is known as the bank shot your forehand swing path will naturally move towards the top as you move closer to the ball.

Remember to always swing with your shoulders squared with the ball. This will keep your shoulders in constant contact with the ball while your arms move freely. While you move your arms, your shoulders should not leave the racquet’s socket. It can make it very difficult to take the ball back when this occurs.

When approaching the ball, make sure that your arm is directed from your side , not your backside. The arm that is rotated to the side will weaken your ability to generate energy and generate a good backswing. You must have a strong grip to control your arm’s rotation. Having a weak grip can be extremely dangerous as it can cause you to lose the ball or could cause you to overextend your arm. This could result in injuries.

The angle of your stance is another important aspect to ensure an effective grip. Most tennis players are right-handed and have their right arm slung across their body. For those who are just beginning the left arm is typically carried over their body. Most coaches advise that you hold the club with the neutral grip or similar to a baseball position. A neutral grip will prevent you from hitting with an arm that is not dominant.

Tennis players that have an open stance forehand tend to have issues with their forearms. When players with an open stance forehand, they are more likely to turn their wrists and do not have a good grip. This problem can be solved by holding the racket in a neutral grip. Closed grips are best for tennis players who have an open forehand. This can be achieved by placing the racket behind your skull, your knees bent, and keeping your elbows locked.

Tennis players with a hand that is not dominant should swing the racket over their heads and then over their shoulder. The racket should be facing your crotch if left handed, and it should face your waist if you are left handed. This will prevent the over-the head swing and the under-the shoulder swing from happening. Keep your wrists straight as you swing. Also, ensure that you don’t allow any side of your body too much space.
