Another important thing to remember is that your forehand’s swing path should start out straight and then curve upwards towards the top of your body as you reach the top of your follow through. This is referred to as a cut shot or high arc. A hook with a low arc would start out with an easier wrist hinge and wrist extension. Open stance forehand tennis players are more likely to have problems with their forearms. If players have an open stance forehand, they tend to twist their wrists and not have a good grip. A great way to solve this problem is to hold the racket using a neutral grip. Tennis players with open stance forehand must try to hold the racket with a closed grip. This can be achieved by placing the racket over your head while your knees are bent and your elbows are locked.

Tennis players who have a non-dominant handed should swing the racket over their head and above their shoulders.
