These two areas are essential to the sport and must be addressed.
The grip is the most crucial aspect of the successful tennis swing. Many beginners make the error of holding the racket too loose or tight and then miss the ball, making poor contact or having their racket slip when they swing at the ball. The right way to hold the racket in the right way will provide you with the best chance to hit the ball accurately every time.
Another important thing to keep in mind is that your forehand’s swing path should be straight from the beginning and then curve towards the top of your body when you get to the top of your follow through. This is called a cut shot or high arc. A hook with a low angle will have an inherent wrist hinge as well as wrist extension. These aspects will determine what kind of shots you should be practicing. Another key factor in the correct grip is the angle you stand at. The majority of tennis players are right-handed and wear their right hand draped across their body. The left arm of newbies is often carried over their body. Most coaches suggest holding the club with a neutral grip or in a similar way to a baseball position. Holding the club in a neutral position will ensure that you don’t have a non-dominant arm when you swing.
Forehand tennis players with open stances are more likely to have problems with their forearms. Forehands with an open stance tend to have problems with their grip. A great way to solve this problem is to hold the racket with a neutral grip. Tennis players with open stance forehands should try to use a closed grip. You can achieve this by placing the racket in front of your skull, your knees bent and your elbows locked.
Tennis players who have a non-dominant hand should move the racket above their head and above their shoulders. The racket should point towards your crotch if an right-handed player, and it should face your waist if you are left handed. This will prevent the head-over-head swing or the under-shoulder swing from occurring.
