Different Tennis Grips

Tennis is one of the most loved sports in the world. Tennis is a game that anyone can play from beginners to professionals. Tennis players can be classified into two broad categories based on their skill to hit the ball more and higher than a backhand or forehand. Tennis players are often unable to hit forehands due the lack of knowledge on how to effectively engage their muscles in order to hit strong forehands. Likewise, tennis players also struggle with their backhands as they do not know enough about the proper way to set themselves up to hit a great backhand down the court. These two areas are vital to the game and need to be addressed.

A successful tennis swing is dependent on the grip you use. Many beginners make the error of holding the racket too tightly or loosely and end up missing the ball, making improper contact, or even having the racket break off when they swing at the ball. The best method to hit the ball correctly is to keep the racket correctly in the right position.

Another important thing to remember is that your forehand’s path should be straight. As you get closer to the top end of your follow-through, your forehand’s path should be curved towards your top. This is referred to as a high arc or cut shot. A low arc or hook starts with an easier wrist hinge and wrist extension. These factors will influence the kind of shots you should be learning. For instance, if, for example, you are practicing a technique referred to as the bank shot your forehand’s swing path will naturally turn toward the top as you move closer to the ball.

The angle of your stance is another crucial factor to ensure an effective grip. The majority of tennis players are right-handed and carry their right arm across their body. The left arm of beginners is often carried over their body. Most coaches recommend that you hold the club in the neutral grip or similar to a baseball position. A neutral grip can stop you from swinging with an arm that is not dominant.

Tennis players with open stance forehand are more likely to have problems with their forearms. When players with an open stance forehand they tend to over-turn their wrists and not have a good grip. This problem can be solved by using an upright grip. Closed grips are ideal for tennis players with an open forehand. This can be accomplished by placing the racket on your head while your knees are bent and your elbows are locked.

Tennis players who are non-dominant hand should move the racket in front of their head and over their shoulders. The racket should point towards your crotch in case you are an right-handed player and should be facing your waist if left handed. This will prevent the head-over-head swing or the swing under the shoulder from happening. When you swing, keep your wrists straight and down your hips to ensure that you don’t give either side of your body any space to swing.
