Tennis is one of the most played sports played in the world. Everyone can play tennis, from beginners to pros. Tennis players can be classified into two broad categories based on their level to hit the ball further and higher than a backhand or forehand. Most often, tennis players struggle with hitting forehands because they do not know how to engage the correct muscles for their forehands or in what order to hit strong forehands. Also, tennis players struggle with backhands due to the fact that they do not know enough about the proper way to position themselves to hit a great backhand down the court. Therefore, these two important aspects of the game have to be addressed by those who wish to be successful in the sport.

The grip is the most crucial element of an effective tennis swing. Many beginners make the mistake of holding their racket too loose or tight and end up missing the ball making poor contact, or having their racket slip when they hit the ball. The best way to hit the ball correctly is to hold the racket in the correct position.

Another thing to keep in mind is that your forehand swing path should be straight. When you reach the top of your follow-through, your forehand’s path should curve towards your top. This is called cut shots or high arc. A hook with a low arc will have a natural wrist hinge and wrist extension. These factors will influence the type of shots you must be learning. If you are working on the bank shot technique the forehand swing path will naturally curve toward the top as you get closer to the ball.

Always keep your shoulders in line with the ball when you swing. This will ensure that your shoulders remain in constant contact with your ball which allows your arms to move freely. Keep in mind that the shoulders must never leave the socket or your tennis racquet during your swing. If this happens, it can be extremely difficult to take the ball back.

When you get close to the ball, be sure to move your arm to your side, not your backside. Rotating your arm to the side could decrease your power and ability to generate power. You must have a strong grip to control the rotation of your arm. A weak grip could result in injuries. It could cause you to lose the ball, or cause you to overextend your arms. This could lead to injury.

Another important aspect in the proper grip is the angle you stand at. Tennis beginners are typically right-handed and have their right hand draped across their body. The left arm of beginners is often carried over their body. Most coaches recommend that you hold the club in a neutral grip or similar to a baseball posture. Holding the club in a neutral posture will aid in preventing an arm that is not dominant during your swing.

Tennis players who have open stance forehand tend to have problems with their forearms. Forehand players with an open stance are more likely to have issues with their grip. This issue can be resolved by using an upright grip. Closed grips are ideal for tennis players who have an open forehand. This can be done by putting the racket behind your head, while your knees are bent and your elbows are locked.

Tennis players who are non-dominant hand should move the racket above their head and above their shoulders. If you’re a left handed player, the racket should face your crotch. If you’re a lefthanded player, it should be facing towards your waist. This will stop the over-the head swing as well as the under-the-shoulder swing from occurring. Keep your wrists straight while you swing. Also, make sure you don’t give any side of your body too much space.
