The left arm of newbies is usually slung over their body. Most coaches advise that you hold the club in the neutral grip or similar to a baseball position. Holding the club in a neutral position can aid in preventing an arm that is not dominant when you swing.
Forehand tennis players with open stances are more likely to have problems with their forearms. If a player has an open stance forehand, they tend to twist their wrists and not have a good grip. A great solution to this problem is to hold the racket using a neutral grip. Closed grips are the best choice for tennis players with an open forehand. You can achieve this by placing the racket behind your skull, keeping your knees bent and your elbows locked.
Tennis players that have a non-dominant hand should swing the racket over their head and then over their shoulder. The racket should be facing your crotch if an right-handed player and should be facing your waist if you’re left handed.
