Tennis is a hugely popular sport. Everyone can play tennis from beginners to professionals. There are two primary categories of tennis players. They are classified based on their ability to hit the ball farther than a forehand or backhand. Most times, tennis players struggle with their forehands as they don’t know how to engage the correct muscles for their forehands and in the right order to hit powerful forehands. Tennis players also struggle with their backhands because of lack of knowledge on how to position themselves in order to hit a good backhand down the court. This is why these two essential aspects of the game have to be addressed by those who wish to be successful in the sport.

The grip is the most critical aspect of a successful tennis swing. Many beginners make the mistake of holding the racket too tight or loosely and then miss the ball and making poor contact or having their racket slip when they hit the ball. The best way to strike the ball correctly is to hold the racket in the proper position.

Another important thing to keep in mind is that your forehand swing path should be straight from the beginning and then curve toward the top of your body as you approach the top of your follow-through. This is referred to as a high arc or cut shot. A hook with a low arc would start out with the more natural wrist hinge and wrist extension. These factors will influence the kind of shots you must be learning. For instance, if you are practicing a technique referred to as the bank shot your forehand swing path will naturally move towards the top as you move closer to the ball.

Always keep your shoulders squared with the ball. This will ensure that your shoulders are in constant contact with the ball which allows your arms to swing freely. While you swing, your shoulders should not be able to leave the racquet’s socket. It could make it extremely difficult to capture the ball in the event that this happens.

When approaching the ball, ensure that your arm is pointed towards your side, and not to your backside. Rotating your arm to your side can actually reduce your power and ability generate power. You need a solid grip to control the rotation of your arm. A weak grip can be dangerous since it can cause you to lose the ball or could cause you to overextend your arm. This can result in injuries.

The angle of your stance is also an important factor in ensuring the grip you have. The majority of tennis players are right-handed and have their left hand slung across the body. For those who are just beginning their left arm is usually slung over their body. Most coaches recommend using a neutral grip or in a similar way to a baseball grip. A neutral grip can stop you from hitting with an arm that isn’t dominant.

Open stance forehand tennis players tend to have problems with their forearms. If players have an open stance forehand, they tend to twist their wrists and do not have a good grip. This problem can be solved by holding the racket with a neutral grip. Tennis players who have open stance forehand must try to use a closed grip. This can be achieved by placing the racket behind your skull, your knees bent, and keeping your elbows locked.

Tennis players who have a non-dominant hand should hold the racket above their head and over their shoulders. If you’re a right handed player the racket should point towards your crotch. If you’re a left-handed player, the racket should be pointing towards your waist. This will prevent the over-the head swing and the under-the shoulder swing from occurring. When you swing, keep your wrists straight, and keep them down your hips to ensure that you do not give either side of your body any space to swing.
