A successful tennis swing is dependent on your grip. Many beginners make the error of holding the racket too tight or loosely and then miss the ball and making poor contact or letting their racket slide when they swing at the ball. Another important thing to remember is that your forehand’s swing path should start out straight and then curve towards the top of your body as you reach the top of your follow through. A neutral grip will stop you from swinging with an arm that isn’t dominant.

Tennis players who have open stance forehand are more likely to have problems with their forearms. Forehand players with an open stance are more likely to have problems with their grip. This issue can be fixed by holding the racket in neutral grip. Tennis players who have open stance forehands should try to have a closed grip. This can be achieved by placing the racket over your head while your knees are bent and your elbows are locked.

Tennis players who are non-dominant hand should move the racket over their head and over their shoulders. If you’re a left handed player, the racket should face your crotch.
