Tennis is a very well-known sport. Anyone can play tennis, from beginners to professionals. There are two main categories of tennis players. They are classified based on their ability to hit the ball further than a backhand or forehand. Most often, tennis players have difficulty when they hit forehands due to the fact that they do not know how to use the right muscles for their forehands or in the right order to hit powerful forehands. Tennis players also have trouble with their backhands due to lack of knowledge on how to position themselves to hit a good backhand down the court. Therefore, these two important areas of the game need to be addressed by those who want to be successful in the game.
The grip is the most crucial aspect of a successful tennis swing. Many new players make the mistake of holding the racket too tight or loosely and end up missing the ball, making poor contact or having their racket slip when they swing at the ball. The best method to hit the ball correctly is to keep the racket in the correct position.
Another important thing to remember is that your forehand’s swing path should be straight. As you get closer to the top end of your follow-through, your forehand’s path should be curved towards your top. This is referred to as cut shots or high arc. A low arc or hook starts with a more natural wrist hinge and wrist extension. These aspects will determine what kind of shots you need to be practicing. For instance, if, for example, you are practicing a technique referred to as the bank shot, your forehand swing will naturally move towards the top as you move closer to the ball.
Remember to always swing with your shoulders in line with the ball. This will ensure that your shoulders are always in contact with the ball which allows your arms to swing freely. When you swing, your shoulders should not move away from the socket of your racquet. If this happens, it can be extremely difficult to take the ball back.
As you approach the ball, ensure to rotate your arm from your side, not from your backside. By putting your arm to the side will weaken your ability to generate energy and produce a strong backswing. In order to get your arm to rotate properly, you must have a strong grip on the club. A weak grip could cause injury. It can cause you lose the ball, or cause you to overextend your arms. This can result in injury.
Another important aspect in the proper grip is the angle of your stance. Most tennis beginners are right-handed and carry their right arm across their body. For those who are just beginning, their left arm is usually slung across their body. Most coaches recommend using a neutral grip or in a similar way to a baseball grip. A neutral grip will stop you from swinging with an arm that isn’t dominant.
Tennis players that have an open stance forehand tend to have issues with their forearms. If players have an open stance forehand they tend to twist their wrists and not have a good grip. This issue can be resolved by holding the racket with a neutral grip. Tennis players with open stance forehand should attempt to hold the racket with a closed grip. This can be achieved by putting the racket behind your head while your knees are bent and your elbows are locked.
Tennis players who are non-dominant handed should swing the racket over their head and over their shoulders. If you’re a left handed player the racket should be facing your crotch. If you’re a lefthanded player, the racket should be pointing towards your waist. This will prevent the head-over-head swing or the under-the-shoulder swing from occurring. Keep your wrists straight when you swing. Also, ensure you don’t allow any side of your body too much space.
