A successful tennis swing is contingent on the grip you use. Many beginners make the mistake of gripping the racket too tightly or loosely, and end up either not hitting the ball, making improper contact, or even having the racket break off when they swing at the ball. Holding the racket the right way will provide you with the best chance to hit the ball accurately every time.

The other important factor to be aware of is that your forehand swing should begin straight and then curve towards the top of your body as you approach the top of your follow through.
