The left arm of beginners is often slung across their body. Most coaches recommend holding the club with an even grip, or a style similar to a baseball position. A neutral grip will stop you from hitting with an arm that is not dominant.
Forehand tennis players with open stances are more likely to have issues with their forearms. If a player has an open-stance forehand, they tend to over-turn their wrists, and they do not have a good grip. This issue can be resolved by holding the racket with an upright grip. Closed grips are best for tennis players with an open forehand. This can be achieved by placing the racket on your head, while your knees are bent and your elbows are locked.
Tennis players that have a dominant hand should move the racket over their heads and over their shoulders. If you’re a right-handed player, the racket should face your crotch. If you’re a left-handed player, it should face towards your waist. This will stop the over-the head swing as well as the under-the-shoulder swing from occurring.
