The grip is the most important element of the successful tennis swing. Many new players make the mistake of holding the racket too tight or loosely and then miss the ball making poor contact, or having their racket slip when they swing at the ball. By holding the racket in the correct way will provide you with the best chance to hit the ball in the right way every time.
The other thing you need to be aware of is that your forehand swing path should begin straight and then curve upwards towards the top of your body as you reach the top of your follow-through.
