Many new players make the mistake of gripping the racket to tightly or loosely, and end up either not hitting the ball, making improper contact, or having the racket fall off when they swing at the ball. Holding the racket the right way will give you the best opportunity to strike the ball correctly every time.
Another important thing to remember is that your forehand’s path should be straight. As you approach the top of your follow-through, your forehand swing path should curve towards your top. A great solution to this issue is to hold the racket using a neutral grip. Closed grips are ideal for tennis players who have an open forehand. You can achieve this by placing the racket in front of your skull, keeping your knees bent, and keeping your elbows locked.
Tennis players that have a dominant hand should move the racket over their heads and then over their shoulder. The racket should point towards your crotch if you are left handed, and it should face your waist if left-handed.
