Tennis Grip

Tennis is a very well-known sport. Tennis is a game that everyone can play, from beginners to professionals. There are two major types of tennis players. They can be classified based on their ability to hit the ball farther than a forehand or backhand. Most often, tennis players have difficulty when they hit forehands due to the fact that they aren’t aware of how to engage the correct muscles for their forehands, and in the right order to hit powerful forehands. Tennis players also have trouble with their backhands because of insufficient knowledge about how to position themselves in order to hit a strong backhand down the court. These two areas are crucial to the game and need to be addressed.

A successful tennis swing is contingent on your grip. Many beginners make the error of holding their racket too loose or tight and end up missing the ball making poor contact, or having their racket slip when they hit the ball. The best way to hit the ball correctly is to keep the racket in the proper position.

The other thing you need to be aware of is that your forehand swing should be straight from the beginning and then curve towards the top of your body when you get to the top of your follow-through. This is known as cut or high arc shot. A low arc or hook would start out with an easier wrist hinge and wrist extension. These aspects will affect the type of shots you should be learning. If you are working on the bank shot technique, your forehand swing path will naturally curve toward the top as you get closer to the ball.

Keep your shoulders in line with the ball as you swing. This helps to keep your shoulders in constant contact with the ball even as your arms swing freely. Keep in mind that the shoulders must not leave the socket or your tennis racquet during your swing. If this happens, it could be very difficult to capture the ball.

When approaching the ball, make sure that your arm is directed from your side , not your backside. Moving your arm towards your side can decrease your power and ability generate power. You need to have a strong grip to control the rotation of your arm. Having a weak grip can be very dangerous because it can cause you to miss the ball or it could cause you to extend your arm. This can lead to injury.

The angle of your stance is another crucial factor to ensure the grip you have. Most tennis players are right-handed and have their right arm slung across their bodies. The left arm of beginners is often slung across their body. Most coaches recommend that you hold the club in the neutral grip or similar to a baseball position. By holding the club in a neutral posture will aid in preventing an arm that is not dominant during your swing.

Forehand tennis players with open stances are more likely to have issues with their forearms. If a player has an open stance forehand they tend to over-turn their wrists and not have a proper grip. This issue can be fixed by using a neutral grip. Closed grips are best for players with an open forehand. This can be done by placing the racket over your head while your knees are bent and your elbows are locked.

Tennis players who have a non-dominant handed should swing the racket above their head and over their shoulders. If you’re a right-handed player the racket should point towards your crotch. If you’re a lefthanded player, it should be facing towards your waist. This will stop the over-the head swing and the under-the-shoulder swing from happening. When you swing keep your wrists straight, and keep them down your hips, making sure you don’t allow either side of your body any room to swing.
