Tennis is among the most played sports in the world. It is a sport anyone can play, from beginners to professionals. There are two main categories of tennis players. They are classified based on their ability to hit the ball farther than a forehand or backhand. Most often, tennis players have difficulty with hitting forehands because they don’t know how to properly engage the correct muscles for their forehands or in the right order to hit powerful forehands. Likewise, tennis players also struggle with backhands due to the fact that they don’t know enough about how to position themselves to hit a nice backhand down the court. This is why these two essential aspects of the game have to be addressed by those who wish to be a pro at the game.

A successful tennis swing is contingent on your grip. Many beginners make the mistake of holding the racket too tightly or loosely and end up not hitting the ball, making improper contact, or having the racket break off when they swing at the ball. The best method to hit the ball correctly is to hold the racket in the correct position.

Another thing to keep in mind is that your forehand’s swing path should be straight. When you reach the top end of your follow-through, your forehand’s swing path should curve towards your top. This is referred to as cut or high arc shot. A hook with a low arc would have an natural wrist hinge and wrist extension. These factors will influence the type of shots that you must be learning. For instance, if, for example, you are practicing a technique referred to as the bank shot, your forehand swing path will naturally move towards the top as you move closer to the ball.

A neutral grip can stop you from hitting with an arm that isn’t dominant.

Open stance forehand tennis players tend to have issues with their forearms. Forehand players with an open stance are more likely to have issues with their grip. A great way to solve this problem is to hold the racket using an even grip. Closed grips are the best choice for tennis players with an open forehand. This can be done by putting the racket behind your head while your knees are bent and your elbows are locked.

Tennis players who are non-dominant hand should move the racket in front of their head and over their shoulders. If you’re a right handed player the racket should point towards your crotch. If you’re a lefthanded player, the racket should be pointing towards your waist. This will stop the over-the-head swing or the swing under the shoulder from occurring. Keep your wrists straight as you swing. Also, make sure you don’t give any part of your body too much space.
