For example, if you are practicing a technique referred to as the bank shot your forehand swing path will naturally move towards the top as you move closer to the ball.

Remember to always swing with your shoulders aligned with the ball. This helps keep your shoulders in constant contact with the ball even as your arms are free to move. Be aware that your shoulders must never move away from the socket or the racquet when you swing. If this happens, it can be very difficult to catch the ball.

When you approach the ball, make sure that your arm is pointing from your side , not towards your backside. The arm that is rotated to the side will weaken your ability to generate energy and generate a good backswing. You need a solid grip to control the rotation of your arm. A weak grip could be extremely dangerous as it can cause you to miss the ball or it could cause you to overextend your arm. This could result in injuries.

The angle of your stance is an important factor in ensuring an effective grip. Most tennis beginners are right-handed and carry their right arm across their body. For beginners the left arm is typically carried across their body. Most coaches recommend that you hold the club in an open grip or similar to a baseball posture. A neutral grip will prevent you from hitting with an arm that is not dominant.

Tennis players with open stance forehand tend to have problems with their forearms. Forehands with an open stance tend to have problems with their grip. This issue can be resolved by using neutral grip. Closed grips are ideal for players with an open forehand. This can be achieved by placing the racket on your skull, with your knees bent and your elbows locked.

Tennis players who are non-dominant hand should hold the racket over their head and above their shoulders. The racket should point towards your crotch if you are an right-handed player and should be facing your waist if you are a left handed player. This will stop the over-the head swing as well as the under-the-shoulder swing from occurring. Keep your wrists straight as you swing. Also, ensure you don’t give any side of your body too much space.
