Most times, tennis players struggle when they hit forehands due to the fact that they don’t know how to properly engage the proper muscles for their forehands or in the right order to hit powerful forehands. Likewise, tennis players also struggle with their backhands as they don’t know enough about how to properly position themselves for a nice backhand down the court. So, these two crucial areas of the game need to be addressed by those who wish to be successful in the sport.

A successful tennis swing depends on your grip. Many new players make the mistake of holding their racket too loose or tight and end up missing the ball and making poor contact or letting their racket slide when they swing at the ball. The right way to hold the racket in the right way will provide you with the best chance to hit the ball accurately every time.

Another important thing to remember is that your forehand’s path should be straight. As you approach the top of your follow-through, your forehand swing path should be curved towards your top. This is called a high arc or cut shot. A hook with a low angle will have a natural wrist hinge and wrist extension. These aspects will determine what kind of shots you need to be practicing. For example, if you are practicing a technique that is known as the bank shot, your forehand swing will naturally turn toward the top as you get closer to the ball.

Remember that your shoulders should never leave the socket or your racquet when you swing. This can make it extremely difficult to take the ball back in the event that this occurs.

When approaching the ball, ensure that your arm is directed from your side , not towards your backside. The arm that is rotated on your side can weaken the ability of your arm to generate power and create a great backswing. You need a solid grip to control the rotation of your arm. A weak grip can cause injury. It could cause you to miss the ball or cause you to overextend your arms. This could lead to injury.

Another crucial aspect of the correct grip is the angle you stand at. Most tennis players are right handed and have their right arm slung across their bodies. For those who are just beginning their left arm is usually carried over their body. The majority of coaches suggest that you hold the club in the neutral grip or similar to a baseball posture. A neutral grip will prevent you from swinging with an arm that isn’t dominant.

Tennis players who have open stance forehand tend to have problems with their forearms. When players with an open-stance forehand, they tend to over-turn their wrists, and they do not have a good grip. This issue can be fixed by holding the racket with neutral grip. Closed grips are the best choice for tennis players who have an open forehand. You can achieve this by placing the racket in front of your skull, with your knees bent, and keeping your elbows locked.

Tennis players who are non-dominant handed should swing the racket in front of their head and over their shoulders. The racket should be facing your crotch if you are left handed and should be facing your waist if left handed. This will prevent the head-over-head swing or the under-the-shoulder swing from happening. Keep your wrists straight when you swing. Also, ensure that you don’t give any part of your body too much space.
