The grip is the most important element of an effective tennis swing. Many new players make the mistake of gripping the racket too tightly or loosely, and end up either not hitting the ball, making improper contact, or even having the racket fall off when they are swinging at the ball. The best way to strike the ball correctly is to hold the racket in the proper position.
Another important thing to remember is that your forehand swing path should be straight. As you approach the top end of your follow-through, your forehand’s swing path should curve towards your top. This is called a cut shot or high arc. A hook with a low arc will have a natural wrist hinge and wrist extension. These factors will influence the kind of shots you need to master. If you are practicing the bank shot technique your forehand’s swing path will naturally curve toward the top as you get closer to the ball.

By putting your arm on your side can weaken your ability to generate power and produce a strong backswing. You must have a strong grip to control the rotation of your arm. A weak grip can lead to injury. It could cause you to lose the ball or cause you overextend your arms. This can result in injury.
Another crucial aspect of the proper grip is the angle you stand at. Tennis beginners are typically right-handed and have their right hand draped across their body. For beginners their left arm is typically carried across their body. The majority of coaches advise holding the club with an even grip, or in a similar way to a baseball grip. The club should be held in a neutral posture will aid in preventing an arm that is not dominant during your swing.
Tennis players that have an open stance forehand are more likely to have problems with their forearms. If a player has an open stance forehand they tend to over-turn their wrists and not have a good grip. A great solution to this problem is to hold the racket using an even grip. Tennis players with an open stance forehand should attempt to hold the racket with a closed grip. This can be achieved by placing the racket in front of your skull, with your knees bent, and your elbows locked.
Tennis players who have a non-dominant hand should move the racket over their head and above their shoulders. If you’re a left handed player the racket should point towards your crotch.
