Tennis is a hugely popular sport. It is a sport anyone can play from beginners to professional. There are two major categories of tennis players. They can be classified based on their ability to hit the ball more than a backhand or forehand. Tennis players typically struggle to hit forehands due the lack of knowledge on how to properly engage their muscles in is the best way to hit powerful forehands. Tennis players also struggle with their backhands due lack of understanding about how to position themselves to hit a good backhand down the court. These two areas are vital to the game and must be addressed.

A successful tennis swing depends on your grip. Many beginners make the mistake of holding the racket too tight or loosely and end up missing the ball making poor contact, or having their racket slip when they hit the ball. By holding the racket in the correct way will give you the best chance to hit the ball in the right way every time.

The other thing you need to be aware of is that your forehand’s swing path should be straight from the beginning and then curve towards the top of your body as you approach the top of your follow-through. This is known as a cut shot or high arc. A hook with a low angle will have an natural wrist hinge and wrist extension. These factors will influence the type of shots that you should be learning. Another key factor in the correct grip is the angle of your stance. Tennis beginners are typically right-handed and wear their right hand slung across the body. For those who are just beginning their left arm is usually slung across their body. Most coaches advise that you hold the club in a neutral grip or like a baseball position. Holding the club in a neutral posture will help prevent you from having a non-dominant arm when you swing.

Tennis players who have open stance forehand tend to have problems with their forearms. Open stance forehand players tend to have problems with their grip. This issue can be fixed by holding the racket with a neutral grip. Closed grips are ideal for tennis players with an open forehand. This can be achieved by placing the racket on your skull, keeping your knees bent, and keeping your elbows locked.

Tennis players that have a hand that is not dominant should swing the racket above their head and over their shoulder. If you’re a right handed player, the racket should face your crotch. If you’re a left-handed player, the racket should be pointing towards your waist. This will prevent the swing that is over the head or the swing under the shoulder from happening. Keep your wrists straight while you swing. Also, make sure you don’t give any part of your body too much room.
