Many new players make the mistake of gripping the racket too tightly or too loosely and end up missing the ball or making a poor contact or even having the racket break off when they swing at the ball. The other important factor to remember is that your forehand swing path should start out straight and then curve toward the top of your body when you get to the top of your follow-through.
