Another important thing to keep in mind is that your forehand swing path should be straight from the beginning and then curve towards the top of your body as you reach the top of your follow-through. This issue can be resolved by holding the racket in a neutral grip. Closed grips are ideal for tennis players who have an open forehand. You can achieve this by placing the racket on your skull, your knees bent and your elbows locked.
Tennis players who have a non-dominant hand should swing the racket over their heads and then over their shoulder. If you’re a right-handed player, the racket should face your crotch. If you’re a lefthanded player, the racket should be pointing towards your waist. This will stop the over-the head swing as well as the under-the-shoulder swing from occurring. Keep your wrists straight while you swing. Also, ensure you don’t give any side of your body too much room.
