A successful tennis swing depends on the grip you use. Many new players make the mistake of holding their racket in a way that is too loose or tight and then miss the ball, making poor contact or having their racket slip when they hit the ball. The best way to hit the ball correctly is to hold the racket in the correct position.
Another thing to keep in mind is that your forehand’s swing path should be straight. When you reach the top of your follow-through, your forehand’s path should be curved towards your top. This is known as cut or high arc shot. A low arc or hook will begin with an easier wrist hinge and wrist extension. These factors will determine what kind of shots you need to be practicing. If you are practicing the bank shot technique, your forehand swing is likely to curve towards the top as you get closer to the ball.
