A successful tennis swing is dependent on your grip. Many beginners make the mistake of gripping the racket to tightly or too loosely, and end up either not hitting the ball, making improper contact, or even having the racket fall off when they are swinging at the ball. The right way to hold the racket in the right way will give you the best chance to hit the ball in the right way every time.
The other thing you need to be aware of is that your forehand swing path should begin straight and then curve toward the top of your body as you reach the top of your follow through.
