Tennis players also have trouble with their backhands due to insufficient knowledge about how to properly position themselves to hit a good backhand down the court. Therefore, these two important areas of the game need to be addressed by those who want to be successful in the sport.
A successful tennis swing depends on the grip you use. Many beginners make the mistake of holding the racket too loose or tight and then miss the ball making poor contact, or having their racket slip when they hit the ball. The best method to hit the ball correctly is to keep the racket correctly in the right position.
Another thing to keep in mind is that your forehand swing path should be straight. When you reach the top of your follow-through, your forehand’s swing path should be curved towards your top. This is called cut shot or high arc. A low arc or hook will begin with an easier wrist hinge and wrist extension. These factors will determine what kind of shots you need to be practicing. For instance, if you are practicing a technique known as the bank shot your forehand’s swing path will naturally move towards the top as you get closer to the ball.
Always keep your shoulders aligned with the ball. This will ensure that your shoulders remain in constant contact with your ball which allows your arms to swing with ease. While you swing, your shoulders should not leave the socket of your racquet. If this happens, it could be very difficult to take the ball back.
When you are approaching the ball, make sure that your arm is directed from your side , not towards your backside. Rotating your arm on your side can weaken your ability to generate power and generate a good backswing. To get your arm to move properly you need to be able to grip the club. A weak grip could be extremely dangerous as it could cause you to lose the ball or could cause you to overextend your arm. This can lead to injury.
Another key factor in the correct grip is the angle you stand at. Most tennis players are right handed and carry their right arm across their body. For beginners their left arm is usually carried over their body. Most coaches recommend holding the club with a neutral grip, or in a manner similar to a baseball posture. The club should be held in a neutral position will help prevent you from having a non-dominant arm when you swing.
Tennis players with open stance forehand are more likely to have problems with their forearms. Forehands with an open stance tend to have problems with their grip. A great way to solve this problem is to hold the racket with an even grip. Tennis players with an open stance forehand should attempt to use a closed grip. This can be achieved by placing the racket in front of your skull, with your knees bent and your elbows locked.
Tennis players that have a hand that is not dominant should swing the racket over their heads and over their shoulder. If you’re a left handed player the racket should point towards your crotch. If you’re a left-handed player, the racket should be pointing towards your waist. This will prevent the over-the head swing and the under-the-shoulder swing from occurring. When you swing, keep your wrists straight and down your hips so that you don’t allow either side of your body any room to swing.
