Tennis players can be divided into two broad categories based on their level to hit the ball farther and higher than a forehand or backhand. Tennis players also struggle with their backhands due to insufficient knowledge about how to properly position themselves to hit a good backhand down the court. So, these two crucial aspects of the game have to be addressed by those who want to excel at the game.

The grip is the most crucial element of the successful tennis swing. Many beginners make the error of holding the racket too tight or loosely and end up missing the ball making poor contact, or having their racket slip when they swing at the ball. The right way to hold the racket in the right way will provide you with the best chance to hit the ball accurately every time.

Another thing to keep in mind is that your forehand swing path should be straight. When you reach the top end of your follow-through, your forehand’s swing path should be curved towards your top. This is called cut or high arc shot. A hook with a low arc would have a natural wrist hinge and wrist extension. These factors can affect the type of shots that you need to master. If you’re practicing the bank shot technique the forehand swing course will naturally curve towards the top as you get closer to the ball.

Always keep your shoulders in line with the ball whenever you swing. This helps to keep your shoulders in constant contact with the ball as your arms swing freely. When you get close to the ball, make sure to move your arm to your side, not from your backside. Rotating your arms to your side can actually reduce your power and ability to generate power. You need a solid grip to control your arm’s movement. A weak grip can result in injuries. It can cause you miss the ball or cause you overextend your arms. This could result in injury.

The angle of your stance is an important factor in ensuring a good grip. Most tennis beginners are right handed and have their right arm stretched across their body. The left arm of newbies is often slung across their body. Most coaches recommend that you hold the club with the neutral grip or similar to a baseball posture. By holding the club in a neutral position can ensure that you don’t have a non-dominant arm when you swing.

Forehand tennis players who have an open stance tend to have issues with their forearms. If players have an open-stance forehand, they tend to over-turn their wrists and do not have a proper grip. This issue can be resolved by holding the racket in an upright grip. Closed grips are the best choice for tennis players who have an open forehand. This can be done by placing the racket over your head while your knees are bent and your elbows are locked.

Tennis players that have a dominant hand should move the racket over their head and over their shoulder. The racket should point towards your crotch if a right handed player, and it should face your waist if you’re left-handed. This will stop the head-over-head swing or the under-the-shoulder swing from occurring. Keep your wrists straight as you swing. Also, ensure that you don’t give any part of your body too much space.
