Tennis is a very popular sport. It is a sport everyone can play, from beginners to professional. Tennis players can be divided into two broad categories based on their ability to hit the ball more and higher than a forehand or a backhand. Most often, tennis players struggle when they hit forehands due to the fact that they don’t know how to engage the correct muscles for their forehands, and in the right order to hit powerful forehands. Tennis players also have trouble with their backhands due to lack of understanding about how to position themselves in order to hit a good backhand down the court. These two areas are crucial to the game and must be addressed.

A successful tennis swing is contingent on your grip. Many new players make the mistake of holding the racket too tight or loose, and end up either hitting the ball too far or making an incorrect contact or having the racket break off when they swing at the ball. The right way to hold the racket in the right way will give you the best opportunity to strike the ball correctly every time.

The other important factor to be aware of is that your forehand’s swing path should start out straight and then curve towards the top of your body when you get to the top of your follow through. This is known as cut or high arc shot. A hook with a low arc will have an inherent wrist hinge as well as wrist extension. These aspects will affect the type of shots you need to master. For instance, if you are practicing a technique referred to as the bank shot your forehand swing path will naturally turn toward the top as you move closer to the ball.

Always keep your shoulders in line with the ball when you swing. This helps keep your shoulders in constant contact with the ball as your arms swing freely. Keep in mind that the shoulders must not move away from the socket or the tennis racquet during your swing. If this happens, it could be very difficult to catch the ball.

When you get close to the ball, ensure to rotate your arm from your side, not from your backside. Rotating your arm to the side could reduce your power and ability generate power. You must have a strong grip to control your arm’s rotation. Having a weak grip can be extremely dangerous as it can cause you lose the ball or can cause you to overextend your arm. This can lead to injury.

The angle of your stance is another crucial factor to ensure the grip you have. Tennis beginners are typically right-handed and have their right hand spread across their body. The left arm of beginners is often slung across their body. Most coaches recommend that you hold the club with an open grip or similar to a baseball posture. A neutral grip can stop you from swinging with an arm that isn’t dominant.

Tennis players that have an open stance forehand tend to have problems with their forearms. When players with an open stance forehand, they tend to twist their wrists and do not have a proper grip. This issue can be resolved by holding the racket with an upright grip. Tennis players who have open stance forehand must try to hold the racket with a closed grip. You can achieve this by placing the racket on your skull, keeping your knees bent, and keeping your elbows locked.

Tennis players who are non-dominant hand should hold the racket in front of their head and above their shoulders. If you’re a left handed player, the racket should face your crotch. If you’re a left-handed player, it should face towards your waist. This will stop the over-the-head swing or the under-the-shoulder swing from happening. Keep your wrists straight when you swing. Also, make sure you don’t allow any side of your body too much space.
