A successful tennis swing depends on the grip you use. Many beginners make the mistake of holding their racket in a way that is too loose or tight and then miss the ball and making poor contact or having their racket slip when they swing at the ball. By holding the racket in the correct way will give you the best chance to hit the ball in the right way every time.

Another important thing to remember is that your forehand swing should start out straight and then curve towards the top of your body as you approach the top of your follow-through. This is referred to as cut shots or high arc. A low arc or hook will begin with the more natural wrist hinge and wrist extension. These factors will determine the kind of shots you should be practicing. If you are practicing the bank shot technique the forehand swing course will naturally curve towards the top as you get closer to the ball.

Always keep your shoulders in line with the ball as you swing. This will keep your shoulders in constant contact with the ball while your arms are free to move. Remember that your shoulders should never be removed from the socket or racquet while you are swinging. This can make it extremely difficult to capture the ball in the event that this occurs.

When you are approaching the ball, ensure that your arm is pointing from your side and not your backside. Rotating your arm to your side can actually reduce your power and your ability to generate power. You need to have a strong grip to control the rotation of your arm. A weak grip could result in injuries. It could cause you to lose the ball or cause you overextend your arms. This could lead to injuries.

Another crucial aspect of the proper grip is the angle you stand at. The majority of tennis players are right-handed and have their right hand spread across their body. For those who are just beginning the left arm is typically carried across their body. The majority of coaches advise using a neutral grip, or in a similar way to a baseball position. By holding the club in a neutral position can aid in preventing an arm that is not dominant during your swing.

Forehand tennis players who have an open stance tend to have issues with their forearms. Open stance forehand players tend to have problems with their grip. A great way to solve this problem is to hold the racket with a neutral grip. Tennis players who have open stance forehand should attempt to have a closed grip.
