Tennis is a very well-known sport. Everyone can play tennis from beginners to the pros. Tennis players can be divided into two broad categories based on their ability to hit the ball more and higher than a forehand or a backhand. Tennis players are often unable to hit forehands because of the lack of knowledge on how to properly engage their muscles and what order to hit strong forehands. In the same way, tennis players struggle with their backhands as they do not know enough about how to position themselves to hit a great backhand down the court. A successful tennis swing is contingent on your grip. Many new players make the mistake of holding their racket too loose or tight and end up missing the ball, making poor contact or letting their racket slide when they swing at the ball. By holding the racket in the correct way will give you the best opportunity to strike the ball correctly every time.

Another important thing to remember is that your forehand’s swing path should be straight. When you reach the top end of your follow-through, your forehand’s swing path should curve towards your top. This is known as cut or high arc shot. A low arc or hook will begin with an easier wrist hinge and wrist extension. These aspects will affect the type of shots that you should be learning. If you are working on the bank shot technique, your forehand swing course will naturally curve towards the top as you get closer to the ball.

Keep your shoulders in line with the ball whenever you swing. This helps to keep your shoulders in constant contact with the ball while your arms are free to move. Keep in mind that the shoulders must never move away from the socket or the racquet while you are swinging. It can make it very difficult to capture the ball in the event that this happens.

When you are approaching the ball, ensure that your arm is directed towards your side, and not to your backside. By putting your arm on your side actually weakens the ability of your arm to generate power and create a great backswing. To allow your arm to rotate properly you need to hold a firm grip on the club. A weak grip could cause injuries. It can cause you miss the ball or cause you to overextend your arms. This could result in injury.

The angle of your stance is another crucial factor to ensure the grip you have. Tennis beginners tend to be right-handed and have their right hand spread across their body. For beginners the left arm is usually slung over their body. Most coaches suggest using a neutral grip, or in a manner similar to a baseball posture. A neutral grip will prevent you from hitting with an arm that isn’t dominant.

Forehand tennis players who have an open stance are more likely to have problems with their forearms. If a player has an open stance forehand they are more likely to turn their wrists and not have a good grip. A great solution to this issue is to hold the racket with an even grip. Closed grips are best for players with an open forehand. This can be achieved by placing the racket in front of your skull, your knees bent and your elbows locked.

Tennis players who have a non-dominant handed should swing the racket over their head and above their shoulders. If you’re a right-handed player the racket should be facing your crotch. If you’re a left-handed player, it should be facing towards your waist. This will stop the over-the head swing as well as the under-the-shoulder swing from occurring. Keep your wrists straight as you swing. Also, make sure you don’t allow any side of your body too much space.
