A successful tennis swing depends on your grip. Many beginners make the mistake of holding the racket too tight or loose, and end up either not hitting the ball, making improper contact, or having the racket fall off when they are swinging at the ball. The best way to hit the ball correctly is to keep the racket in the correct position.

Another important thing to remember is that your forehand swing path should be straight. As you get closer to the top end of your follow-through, your forehand’s swing path should curve towards your top. This is called cut or high arc shot. A hook with a low arc would have a natural wrist hinge and wrist extension. These factors can affect the kind of shots you need to master. For example, if you are practicing a technique referred to as the bank shot, your forehand swing will naturally shift towards the top as you move closer to the ball.

When you approach the ball, ensure that your arm is pointing from your side , not towards your backside. Rotating your arm to your side can actually reduce your power and ability generate power. You need a solid grip to control the rotation of your arm. A weak grip can result in injury. It could cause you to not to hit the ball, or cause you to overextend your arms. This could lead to injuries.

The angle of your stance is another crucial factor to ensure a good grip. Tennis beginners tend to be right-handed and wear their right hand draped across their body. The left arm of beginner players is usually slung over their body. Most coaches advise that you hold the club with the neutral grip or similar to a baseball position. A neutral grip can stop you from hitting with an arm that is not dominant.

Forehand tennis players who have an open stance tend to have problems with their forearms. If a player has an open stance forehand, they are more likely to turn their wrists and not have a proper grip. This problem can be solved by using a neutral grip. Closed grips are the best choice for players with an open forehand. This can be achieved by putting the racket behind your head, while your knees are bent and your elbows are locked.

Tennis players who have a non-dominant hand should hold the racket above their head and over their shoulders. If you’re a right-handed player the racket should point towards your crotch. If you’re a left-handed player, it should be facing towards your waist. This will stop the over-the head swing and the under-the shoulder swing from happening. Keep your wrists straight as you swing. Also, ensure you don’t allow any side of your body too much room.
