A successful tennis swing is contingent on the grip you use. Many beginners make the error of holding the racket too tightly or too loosely, and end up either hitting the ball too far or making a poor contact or even having the racket break off when they are swinging at the ball. The best way to strike the ball correctly is to hold the racket in the proper position.

Another important thing to remember is that your forehand swing should begin straight and then curve upwards towards the top of your body when you get to the top of your follow-through. This is referred to as cut or high arc shot. A low arc or hook would start out with a more natural wrist hinge and wrist extension. These factors will determine what kind of shots you need to be practicing. If you are working on the bank shot technique, your forehand swing path will naturally curve toward the top as it gets closer to the ball.

Remember to always swing with your shoulders in line with the ball. This will ensure that your shoulders are in constant contact with your ball, allowing your arms to swing with ease. While you swing, your shoulders must not leave the socket of your racquet. If this happens, it will be extremely difficult to catch the ball.

When you are approaching the ball, make sure to rotate your arm from your side, not from your backside. Rotating your arm on your side can weaken your ability to generate power and produce a strong backswing. You must have a strong grip to control the rotation of your arm. A weak grip can be very dangerous because it could cause you to miss the ball or it can cause you to overextend your arm. This could result in injury.

Another key factor in the correct grip is the angle of your stance. The majority of tennis players are right-handed and carry their right arm across their bodies. The left arm of newbies is usually slung over their body. The majority of coaches advise using a neutral grip, or in a manner similar to a baseball grip. By holding the club in a neutral posture will aid in preventing an arm that is not dominant during your swing.

Forehand tennis players with open stances are more likely to have issues with their forearms. If a player has an open stance forehand they tend to over-turn their wrists, and they do not have a proper grip. One way to address this problem is to hold the racket with an even grip. Tennis players with open stance forehand must try to use a closed grip. This can be done by placing the racket over your head while your knees are bent and your elbows are locked.

Tennis players who are non-dominant hand should hold the racket in front of their head and over their shoulders. If you’re a right handed player the racket should point towards your crotch. Keep your wrists straight as you swing. Also, ensure that you don’t give any side of your body too much space.
