The grip is the most crucial element of a successful tennis swing. Many beginners make the error of holding the racket too tight or loosely and end up missing the ball, making poor contact or having their racket slip when they swing at the ball. The best way to strike the ball correctly is to keep the racket correctly in the right position.

The other important factor to remember is that your forehand swing should be straight from the beginning and then curve toward the top of your body as you reach the top of your follow through.
