Tennis is among the most loved sports played in the world. Everyone can play tennis, from beginners to the pros. There are two major types of tennis players. They can be classified based on their ability to hit the ball further than a backhand or forehand. Tennis players often struggle to hit forehands because of inexperience with how to properly engage their muscles and what is the best way to hit powerful forehands. Tennis players also struggle with their backhands due insufficient knowledge about how to position themselves in order to hit a good backhand down the court. This is why these two essential aspects of the game have to be addressed by those who want to be a pro at the game.

A successful tennis swing is dependent on your grip. Many new players make the mistake of holding their racket too loose or tight and end up missing the ball making poor contact, or letting their racket slide when they swing at the ball. The right way to hold the racket in the right way will give you the best opportunity to hit the ball in the right way every time.

Another thing to keep in mind is that your forehand’s swing path should be straight. As you approach the top of your follow-through, your forehand’s swing path should be curved towards your top. This is known as a high arc or cut shot. A hook with a low arc would have an natural wrist hinge and wrist extension. These aspects will determine what type of shots you should be practicing. For instance, if you are practicing a technique referred to as the bank shot your forehand swing path will naturally move towards the top as you move closer to the ball.

Always keep your shoulders in line with the ball whenever you swing. This will ensure that your shoulders remain in constant contact with the ball which allows your arms to swing with ease. Be aware that your shoulders must not move away from the socket or the racquet when you swing. If this happens, it can be extremely difficult to take the ball back.

When you approach the ball, make sure that your arm is directed towards your side, and not your backside. The arm that is rotated on your side actually weakens your ability to generate power and produce a strong backswing. You must have a strong grip to control the rotation of your arm. A weak grip could be dangerous since it can cause you miss the ball or it could cause you to extend your arm. This can result in injury.

The angle of your stance is another important aspect to ensure a good grip. Tennis beginners tend to be right-handed and have their right hand slung across the body. For beginners the left arm is usually carried across their body. Most coaches suggest using a neutral grip or in a similar way to a baseball grip. A neutral grip can stop you from swinging with an arm that isn’t dominant.

Open stance forehand tennis players are more likely to have problems with their forearms. If a player has an open stance forehand they tend to over-turn their wrists and not have a proper grip. This issue can be resolved by holding the racket in a neutral grip. Closed grips are best for tennis players with an open forehand. This can be done by placing the racket on your head, while your knees are bent and your elbows are locked.

Tennis players with a hand that is not dominant should swing the racket above their head and over their shoulders. If you’re a left handed player the racket should point towards your crotch. If you’re a left-handed player, it should be facing towards your waist. This will stop the over-the head swing and the under-the shoulder swing from happening. When you swing, keep your wrists straight and down your hips, making sure you don’t give either side of your body any room to swing.
