Tennis is a hugely popular sport. Tennis is a game that anyone can play from beginners to professionals. Tennis players can be divided into two broad categories based on their skill to hit the ball farther and higher than a forehand or backhand. Most often, tennis players have difficulty with their forehands as they do not know how to use the right muscles for their forehands or in what order to hit strong forehands. Likewise, tennis players also struggle with their backhands as they aren’t aware about how to properly position themselves for a great backhand down the court. These two areas are vital to the game and need to be addressed.

A successful tennis swing depends on the grip you use. Many beginners make the error of gripping the racket too tight or loose, and end up either hitting the ball too far, making improper contact, or even having the racket fall off when they swing at the ball. By holding the racket in the correct way will provide you with the best chance to strike the ball correctly every time.

Another thing to keep in mind is that your forehand’s swing path should be straight. As you get closer to the top end of your follow-through, your forehand swing path should be curved towards your top. This is called a high arc or cut shot. A hook with a low arc will have an natural wrist hinge and wrist extension. These factors will determine the kind of shots you should be practicing. For instance, if you are practicing a technique known as the bank shot, your forehand’s swing path will naturally shift towards the top as you get closer to the ball.

Remember to always swing with your shoulders squared with the ball. This will ensure that your shoulders are in constant contact with your ball, allowing your arms to move freely. Keep in mind that the shoulders should never move away from the socket or the tennis racquet during your swing. It could make it extremely difficult to take the ball back if this occurs.

When you are approaching the ball, ensure that your arm is directed towards your side, and not your backside. Moving your arm towards your side can reduce your power and your ability to generate power. To allow your arm to move properly you need to be able to grip the club. Having a weak grip can be very dangerous because it can cause you to lose the ball or could cause you to overextend your arm. This could lead to injuries.

The angle of your stance is also an important aspect to ensure the grip you have. Tennis beginners are typically right-handed and have their left hand spread across their body. The left arm of beginners is usually slung over their body. Most coaches advise that you hold the club with a neutral grip or like a baseball position. A neutral grip will stop you from swinging with an arm that is not dominant.

Open stance forehand tennis players are more likely to have problems with their forearms. If players have an open-stance forehand, they are more likely to turn their wrists and not have a proper grip. This issue can be resolved by using neutral grip. Closed grips are ideal for tennis players who have an open forehand. This can be done by placing the racket over your head while your knees are bent and your elbows are locked.

Tennis players who are non-dominant handed should swing the racket over their head and over their shoulders. The racket should be facing your crotch in case you are an right-handed player and the racket should be pointing towards your waist if left handed. This will prevent the over-the-head swing or the under-shoulder swing from occurring. When you swing, keep your wrists straight and down your hips, making sure you do not give either side of your body any room to swing.
