Tennis players can be classified into two broad categories based on their level to hit the ball farther and higher than a forehand or a backhand. Most often, tennis players have difficulty with their forehands as they do not know how to engage the proper muscles for their forehands or in which order to hit powerful forehands. Tennis players also struggle with their backhands due lack of knowledge on how to position themselves in order to hit a strong backhand down the court. This is why these two essential aspects of the game have to be addressed by those who want to be a pro at the game.

The grip is the most critical element of an effective tennis swing. Many beginners make the error of gripping the racket too tight or loose and end up not hitting the ball, making improper contact, or having the racket fall off when they are swinging at the ball. The best way to hit the ball correctly is to keep the racket in the correct position.

Another important thing to remember is that your forehand swing should start out straight and then curve towards the top of your body as you approach the top of your follow-through. This is called cut or high arc shot. A low arc or hook starts with an easier wrist hinge and wrist extension. These aspects will affect the type of shots you should be learning. If you are practicing the bank shot technique, your forehand swing is likely to curve towards the top as it gets closer to the ball.

Always keep your shoulders in line with the ball whenever you swing. This helps to keep your shoulders in constant contact with the ball as your arms swing freely. When you swing, your shoulders must not leave the socket of your racquet. If this happens, it can be very difficult to capture the ball.

When approaching the ball, ensure that your arm is pointing from your side , not to your backside. Rotating your arm on your side can weaken your ability to generate power and produce a strong backswing. To get your arm to rotate properly, you must hold a firm grip on the club. A weak grip can lead to injuries. It could cause you to lose the ball or cause you to overextend your arms. This could result in injury.

Another key factor in the proper grip is the angle you stand at. The majority of tennis players are right-handed and have their right arm stretched across their bodies. The left arm of newbies is often slung across their body. Most coaches advise that you hold the club with an open grip or like a baseball position. A neutral grip will prevent you from hitting with an arm that isn’t dominant.

Tennis players that have an open stance forehands tend to have issues with their forearms. If players have an open-stance forehand, they tend to over-turn their wrists, and they do not have a good grip. This problem can be solved by holding the racket with neutral grip. Closed grips are the best choice for players with an open forehand. This can be achieved by placing the racket over your head while your knees are bent and your elbows are locked.

Tennis players who have a non-dominant hand should hold the racket above their head and over their shoulders. The racket should be facing your crotch if you are an right-handed player, and it should face your waist if you are left-handed. This will stop the swing that is over the head or the swing under the shoulder from occurring. When you swing, keep your wrists straight and lower your hips to ensure that you don’t give either side of your body a chance to swing.
