Tennis is a hugely popular sport. It is a sport everyone can play, from beginners to professionals. Tennis players can be classified into two broad categories based on their ability level to hit the ball farther and higher than a forehand or a backhand. Most often, tennis players struggle with hitting forehands because they don’t know how to engage the correct muscles for their forehands or in the right order to hit powerful forehands. Tennis players also struggle with their backhands because of insufficient knowledge about how to position themselves to hit a solid backhand down the court. These two areas are crucial to the game and must be addressed.

A successful tennis swing is contingent on your grip. Many new players make the mistake of gripping the racket to tightly or too loosely, and end up either missing the ball or making an incorrect contact or having the racket break off when they are swinging at the ball. By holding the racket in the correct way will give you the best opportunity to hit the ball in the right way every time.

The other thing you need to remember is that your forehand swing should start out straight and then curve upwards towards the top of your body as you approach the top of your follow-through. This is referred to as a high arc or cut shot. A low arc or hook would start out with the more natural wrist hinge and wrist extension. These factors can affect the type of shots you must be learning. For example, if you are practicing a technique that is known as the bank shot, your forehand swing path will naturally move towards the top as you move closer to the ball.

Always keep your shoulders in line with the ball as you swing. This will ensure that your shoulders remain in constant contact with the ball and allow your arms to swing with ease. Remember that your shoulders must not leave the socket or your racquet while you are swinging. It could make it extremely difficult to capture the ball in the event that this occurs.

When you get close to the ball, ensure to move your arm to your side, not from your backside. Rotating your arm to your side can actually decrease your power and ability generate power. To allow your arm to move properly, you must be able to grip the club. Having a weak grip can be very dangerous because it could cause you to be unable to catch the ball, or it can cause you to overextend your arm. This could result in injuries.

The angle of your stance is another crucial factor to ensure a good grip. The majority of tennis players are right-handed and wear their right hand spread across their body. The left arm of newbies is often carried over their body. Most coaches recommend that you hold the club with the neutral grip or similar to a baseball position. A neutral grip will prevent you from hitting with an arm that isn’t dominant.

Forehand tennis players who have an open stance are more likely to have issues with their forearms. When players with an open stance forehand, they tend to over-turn their wrists and not have a good grip. This issue can be resolved by holding the racket with an upright grip. Closed grips are ideal for players with an open forehand. You can achieve this by placing the racket behind your skull, keeping your knees bent, and keeping your elbows locked.

Tennis players who have a hand that is not dominant should swing the racket over their head and then over their shoulder. The racket should face your crotch in case you are a right handed player and should be facing your waist if you’re left handed. This will prevent the over the head swing and the under-the shoulder swing from occurring. When you swing, keep your wrists straight and down your hips, making sure you don’t allow either side of your body any room to swing.
