As you get closer to the top end of your follow-through, your forehand swing path should be curved towards your top. This is referred to as a cut shot or high arc. Tennis players who have open stance forehands tend to have issues with their forearms. Forehand players with an open stance are more likely to have issues with their grip. One way to address this problem is to hold the racket with a neutral grip. Closed grips are best for tennis players with an open forehand. You can achieve this by placing the racket in front of your skull, keeping your knees bent, and your elbows locked.
Tennis players that have a dominant hand should move the racket over their head and then over their shoulder. If you’re a right handed player the racket should point towards your crotch. If you’re a left-handed player, it should be facing towards your waist. This will prevent the swing that is over the head or the under-the-shoulder swing from happening.
