Likewise, tennis players also struggle with their backhands as they aren’t aware about the proper way to set themselves up to hit a great backhand down the court. This is why these two essential areas of the game need to be addressed by those who wish to be successful in the sport.
A successful tennis swing is dependent on your grip. Many new players make the mistake of holding the racket too tightly or loosely and end up hitting the ball too far or making an incorrect contact or having the racket break off when they are swinging at the ball. By holding the racket in the correct way will give you the best opportunity to strike the ball correctly every time.
Another thing to keep in mind is that your forehand swing path should be straight. As you approach the top end of your follow-through, your forehand swing path should curve towards your top. This is known as cut shots or high arc. A hook with a low arc will have an inherent wrist hinge as well as wrist extension. These factors will influence the type of shots that you must be learning. For instance, if, for example, you are practicing a technique known as the bank shot your forehand’s swing path will naturally move towards the top as you move closer to the ball.

Another important aspect in the correct grip is the angle of your stance. Tennis beginners tend to be right-handed and have their right hand draped across their body. The left arm of newbies is often carried over their body. The majority of coaches advise using a neutral grip or in a manner similar to a baseball position. Forehand tennis players who have an open stance are more likely to have issues with their forearms. Forehands with an open stance tend to have problems with their grip.
